Servo tester Pro can be used for testing digital and analog servos and measuring the width of control pulses. It generates a control signal with pulses with a level of logic "1" 5.0V with a repetition frequency of 50 Hz (for analog servos) or 100 Hz (for digital servos). Four buttons and a rotary knob are used to control the device; the program menu and measured values are displayed on the two-line LCD display. The servo tester has seven basic operating modes:
  • Manual servo position adjustment using a rotary knob (control pulse width range basic 1,000-2,000 µs/extended 500-2,500 µs). You can also use it to test electronic speed controllers.
  • Automatic cyclic testing of servo movement with adjustable number of cycles, deflection range and overrun speed. This function is primarily used to test the long-term service life of the servo.
  • Servo testing with button switched fixed positions of 1000, 1500 and 2000 µs. This function is mainly used for testing and mechanically setting the neutral position of the rudders and testing the accuracy of the return of the servo to the center position when moving from both sides.
  • Measuring servo deadband bandwidth. This feature is primarily used to test the servo's deadband bandwidth and determine its true resolution. It's also useful if you need multiple servos reacting in exactly the same way - typically eg 2-4 CCPM servos of a gyre board, multiple servos controlling the same or paired rudders on model aircraft (especially in extreme 3D with huge deflections).
  • Measurement of servo movement speed at 60° deflection
  • Automatic servo movement testing with adjustable deflection range and overrun speed. This function is mainly used to test the smoothness of servo movement; makes visible, for example, defects or operational wear of the resistance path of the feedback potentiometer (manifested by vibrations or jerks), mechanical damage to gears (missing teeth), etc.
  • Measurement of the width of control pulses from an external source (e.g. receiver). This function is primarily used to test the control pulses on the servo outputs from the receiver. You can measure the pulse width at a certain transmitter setting and also test the stability of the control pulse width (if the servo shakes, oscillates or drifts without changing the position of the controls on the transmitter), etc.
The sockets on the right side are used to power the servo tester - either the JST-XH socket for connecting the service connector of the 2S LiPo battery (7.4 V), or the DC connector for connecting the battery or mains supply with a voltage of 7.4-12 V. Supply voltage for the servo at the output of the servo tester (SIGNAL/OUT) is stabilized at 5 V regardless of the supply voltage of the device.

The tested servo is connected to the SIGNAL/OUT socket on the left side. The control signal from an external source is fed to the same socket when measuring the pulse width in the "PW MODE" mode.
